Chewing Simulator

A multi-axis dental test rig combining controlled force, lateral movement, thermal cycling, embedded control, and logged test cycles.

Used in a 250,000-cycle research study
Chewing Simulator developed by MARS-Z

ENGINEERING CASE STUDY

From a real constraint to a working system.

MARS-Z works across disciplines so the mechanics, electronics, controls, software, and manufacturing decisions support one another from the start.

01

THE CHALLENGE

Researchers needed a custom machine capable of reproducing chewing loads and environmental cycles without importing a specialized and difficult-to-service test rig.

02

WHAT WE BUILT

MARS-Z developed the multi-axis mechanism, controlled loading, lateral motion, thermal cycling, embedded control, operator interface, and cycle logging.

03

PROOF + IMPACT

The machine supported a 250,000-cycle study and remained useful in operation for two years, demonstrating durable performance in a real research workflow.
